Movie Chart in Japan — What Are the Pop J-film Now?


This is the last week’s Box Office Chart in Japan.

Six movies out of ten were Japanese films, and the others were American.

No Japanese film could beat the Box Office record breaker AVATER.

 

1: AVATAR
“American science fiction epic film written and directed by James Cameron”

2: Nodame Cantabile: Saishu Gakusho Zenpen (The Last Movement (The first half))
“Japanese romantic comedy film based on the manga and TV drama series of the same name. The film is live action as well as TV drama series. The story depicts the relationship between two college classical musicians, Nodame and Chiaki, and also their struggles as musicians with comedy touch.”

3: Where the Wild Things Are 
“American fantasy comedy-drama film based on the children’s book of the same name”

4: BANDAGE
“Japanese drama film directed by Takeshi Kobayashi, a music producer. The story follows a four-member rock band in 1990s during Japan’s band boom era. It features Jin Akanishi who is a member of Japanese pop boy’s group, KAT-TUN.”

5: Up 
“Disney-Pixar’s animated comedy adventure”

6: ONE PIECE – film Strong World
“The 10th film of Japanese manga and anime series ONE PIECE.”

7: Kondo wa aisaika (Devoted Husband Next)
“Japanese drama film based on the theater play of the same name. It’s a love story of a married but mismatched couple.”

8: Tsuribaka Nisshi 20 the final (Fishing Fool’s Diary 20th  The final)
“Japanese long-run comedy film based on the manga of the same name. The story follows salaryman Hama-chan who is a fishing freak. His fishing friend Su-san is the CEO of the company that Hama-chan works for. The story focuses on the unique relationship between them.”

9: Michael Jackson’s THIS IS IT
“American documentary?concert film”

10: Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Double & Decade: Movie Wars 2010
“Japanese action hero film, which is consisted with three episodes; “Kamen Rider Decade the Final”, “Kamen Rider W(Double) Begins Night” and “Movie Wars 2010”.
