Japan is now in “Konkatsu (marriage hunting)” movement. Single men and women go konkatsu parties to find their partners.

A few years ago, the parties were simply set at dining bar or cafes but today, there are unique konkatsu parties are held at various places.

A dating agency Sunmarie will hold “Ramen Konkatsu Party” in February, where they invite single men and women who love ramen.

The point of this party is that it’s important that his and her favorite foods or tastes are similar in a relationship.

Ramen lover marriage hunters will get together at a ramen restaurant and have full course at the price of 1,000 yen (11 US dollar) .

Not only food, but having the same hobby will keep good relationship.

A Japanese professional baseball team, Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters sold konkatsu seats last year.

They offered 200 seats for each 100 men and women, and after bottom of the first, second, third and forth inning, they shuffle the seats.

Surprisingly, the women’s seats were filled soon but many men’s seats were left unsold.

It seems women are more into this konkatsu movement than men.
