Bowling must be a popular sport in the world. Of course, there are many bowling lovers here in Japan, too.
As for myself, there was a time when I was very much into bowling and went to bowling alleys every Sunday. I believe that bowling requires not just certain technique but also inner strength. In other words, your score can be greatly influenced by your mental state.
Anyway, I would like to introduce a huge bowling pin, which I found on a Japanese website the other day. Can you guess what makes this pin outstanding?
This is a huge pin-shaped object, which you may see at Bowling Alleys,
but with a picture on it.
As it says ‘Horagaisan Kannonji (Mount Horagai, Kannnonji Temple)’,
it must be a picture of Kannon-sama or Goddess of Mercy in Buddhism.
Unfortunately, the building was closed when the poster visited the site.
Mystery here is why Kannon-sama was chosen to be drawn on the bowling pin!?
Well, if I am to knock down the pin, I would be scared of being cursed though lol.
