Fūrin is Japanese wind bell, which is put under eaves during summer to get cool feeling.
It is usually made of metal, glass or porcelain and shaped as a bell or a ball.
It has a clapper with a string and an oblong card.
Fūrin sounds very soothing and so beautiful that it should be used through a year but people rarely use it in other seasons than summer.
Typical Fūrin are hanging-type but in recent years, table Fūrin becoming popular.
There are also electronic Fūrin that ring when wind blows !
