Kyoto Gion Festival and Prince Troy!?

The rainy season is over. We are in midsummer here, and summer festivals are held throughout the country.

The most famous summer festival is the Kyoto Gion Festival, which is one of the three largest festivals in Japan.

I want to show you pictures that I found a blog post about the Gion Festival.

Please look at this picture first…

This is one of the highlights of the festival, Yamahoko-junko parade.

Let’s look at the float closely…

Isn’t it a western picture!?

It was made in Belgium, and depicted the parting of prince Troy and his wife and children.

I have no idea why the western material is in a Japanese traditional festival (bitter simile).

I mean it is not bad, I just don’t see any connection between the festival and prince Troy LOL.

Since the picture was weird, I shared it with you (^_^)
