Spring Has Come?? The 20 Best Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots in Japan

It is broadcasted that cherry blossom seasons is coming to Japan about a week earlier than usual, and cherry blossoms in Tokyo are already at its full bloom!!  Just right timing, but today, I found an article to introduce popular cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan selected based on word of mouth of users of a travel agency’s website.

There were actually 20 sites chosen as good cherry blossom viewing places but I would like to pick a couple of places for you.

First place is Itsukushima Shrine in Hiroshima Pref.

This place has always been very popular for its beautiful red shrine gate, which looks as if it were floating on the sea at high tide.  But the place has been catching people’s attention again after a Japanese broadcasting company, NHK selected a story of Taira no Kiyomori for the subject of Taiga drama in 2012.  The red shrine gate, blue sky and sea and soft pink of cherry blossom of the place create an amzing contrast, and the fact that this can only be seen for a short period of time attracts so many people every year!

Next place is Chidorigafuchi of Tokyo.  Cherry blossoms of this area look overwhelming beautiful as if they are covering the town.

Awww, this looks so beautiful, doesn’t it?? 🙂

Apart from the above 2 places, Bokusen-ji Temple of Kyoto a.k.a The cherry blossom temple, Wanizuka of Yamanashi Pref. are also listed in the 20 best spots.

Of course, cherry blossoms are one of favorite flowers of Japanese, so each part of Japan has their best cherry blossom viewing spot other than those chosen 20 places.  If you do have a plan to visit Japan soon, I hope you could see a change to enjoy cherry blossom somewhere in Japan^^
