This dance is said to be originated from an old dance in Nara Period.
Original dance was performed to a god as an offering to cure disease,
which Kasugaoh (son of Shikino-miko, a Manyo poet) was suffering.
Now, this dance is designated as a significant intangible folk cultural asset of Japan.
Taken is dance of 3 okonas at Narazuhiko Shrine.
