There was once a car vending machine in Japan!

Daimler AG’s “smart” was in a vending machine. But it was not for sale! It was an advertisement.

From June to July 2008, Mercedes-Benz Japan exhibited the “smart” vending machine at five places in Japan to familiarize Japanese people with the micro-car. Although a car didn’t come out, a catalog and a sticker came out for free by pressing the button.

The car is actually really small but doesn’t it look even smaller in a vending machine?

In Japan, we have a lot of kinds of vending machines (Japanese vending machine 1 and 2 such as Banana Vending Machine in Shibuya Tokyo and Japanese “Eco Friendly” Vending Machine.
