In Japan, “obake-yashiki (haunted house)” is considered as a summer thing. In recent years, summer-limited-open haunted houses have been increasing.

Here is the list of the haunted houses open during this summer in Tokyo.

[Lincoln Obake-yashiki]
At: Akasaka Sacas (Akasaka, Tokyo)
Opens till Aug 31, 2010
Admission Fee: 1,000 yen (about US$10)
It is themed as a haunted hospital, and features TBS’s popular comedy TV show “Lincoln.”

[Ashikari no Ie (House of Mowing Legs)]
At: Tokyo Dorm City (Korakuen, Tokyo)
Opens till Aug 31, 2010
Admission Fee: 800 yen (Free with One day passport till 4:30pm)
New style haunted house where you take off your shoes before you enter. It upgrades during night.

[Obake-yashiki in Hanayashiki]
At: Hanayashiki (Asakusa, Tokyo)
Opens till Aug 31, 2010
Admission Fee: 300 yen (admission fee for the park is not included. Free with Free Pass)

[Yamiko’s Curse]
At: Daiba Kaiki Gakkou (Odaiba, Tokyo)
Opens till Sep 1, 2010
Admission Fee: 800 yen (about US$8)

[Byoin Mania – Kyofu no shindanhyo (Hospital Mania – fearful clinical sheet)]
At: Toshimaen (Nerima, Tokyo)
Opens till Aug 31, 2010
Admission Fee: 700 yen (about US$7)
