A can making machine manufacture and sales company, Tanaka Seisakusyo (Adachi-ku, Tokyo)’s new automatic door slides open just wide enough for a person to come in.
This science fiction like door consists of slats which have infrared sensors on each. The sensors recognize the shape of the body, and slides open the door and it closes immediately after the person left.
Here is another video of the automatic door. As you can see, the sensors detect objects too.
The door opens partially, and it doesn’t let much dust inside of the room; therefore, it can be used at the places where no dust allowed such as medical facilities, medicine, semiconductor, food, and precision instrument manufactures.
