Have you ever had the experience of staying in a Japanese style “washitsu” room? It’s super comfortable to lay on the cool “tatami” mattress on a hot summer day! Or maybe you are more interested in doing “zazen” meditation, or having a tea ceremony there? What I’d like to share with you today is a small van that’s been remodeled into a camper with a cool “washitsu” room!! The owner of this vehicle actually travels around in this Japanese style camper van. Old-fashioned “washitsu” rooms are recently becoming scarce as lodgings become rather westernized. But look at these pictures. This is really truly Japanese!

Totally amazing that this is a space in a small van. They could even have travel tea parties!!
