Matsue Vogel Park – Flowers and Birds Garden –


Located in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, Matsue Vogel Parkis one of the largest indoor gardens in the world. In the center house, 10,000 Begonias and Fuchsias bloom all year round while the park exhibits toucans, owls, hornbills, turacos, parrots, ibises, ducks and penguins in other facilities!

You can see these birds closer in Waterfowl Aviary, Tropical Aviary, Paradise, and Waterowl Pond. The park features shows and events such as bird show, owl flying show, penguin walk, and feeding pelicans.

The visitors can also enjoy a beautiful view of lake Shinji-ko from Kunibiki observatory in the park. At the restaurant Flora in the center house, visitors can taste flower ice cream under Begonia flowers. The restaurant serves snacks and lunch too.

Admission fee for visitors from outside of Japan is 1,050 yen per adult, and 530 yen per child. (You need to show your passport, or you may have to pay full price, which is 1,500 yen.)
