Varieties of Unique Kadomatsu

[W:Kadomatsu] are New Year’s decorations we place in the entrance of a house in Japan.

August is not really a season for talking about New Year’s decorations, but I would like to introduce them since I saw an interesting blog related to unique Kadomatsu.

This Kadomatsu was located in a shopping mall in Kawagoe city, [W:Saitama].

It was decorated by a university design course student.

This Kadomatsu is quite tall.

This Kadomatsu was made with bamboo charcoal. Because this shop sells charcoal.
This is the first time I have seen a black Kadomatsu.

This Kadomatsu was decorated in front of a clothing store.
It is a curved wire. It has a cosmic taste.

It is not made with bamboo, but it is made with vinyl chloride.
It looks very cool, doesn’t it?

A lot of Japanese, including me, don’t know that there are so many different types of Kadomatsu in Japan. So it was good to learn that for me, too:)
