On Sunday March 21, I went to MOE HAKU 2010 held in Makuhari-Messe, [W:Chiba Prefecture].

Actually, I didn’t know what the event was about but it was an “[W:itasha]” exhibition.

“Itasha” is literally “pain-mobile” which refers a car decorated with characters (mostly female) from anime, manga, or video games.

Usually painted, remodeled or put stickers on it.

It’s also called “MOE sha” and the word MOE is Japanese slang which is used to refer to strong interest in idealized characters or people especially girls.

To me, it was totally strange world, and the moment I stepped into the site, I felt like I was knocked out.

 

Now, let me show you the picture I took while I was excited.

 

First, this Countach welcomed the guests at the entrance.

 

Hmm… I don’t know what to say.

 

This one was kind of kawaii (cute).

 

Trophies by a car, but I don’t know what kind of awards.

 

This one was incredible too…

 

This one was simple but tasteful.

 

This one was cool.

 

The pink and white paint is making a good contrast with the red body.

 

This is Hatsune Miku version.
The cosplayers were busy modeling for pictures because visitors kept asking
“let me take your picture!” lol.

 

 

This one was so JAPAN. A sword was exhibited for some reason.

The paint on this Mercedes is a little too quiet.

 

Cosplayers were there too.

 

At the event site, not only cars but also personal water crafts, motorcycles and bicycles were there.

Could you enjoy the pictures?

While being surrounded by those “itasha”, I thought that kind of experience can be experienced only here in Japan.

I mean where else can you see anime on cars? LoL.

And the qualities of most of the decorations were great.

But I wonder if those cars actually run public roads.

It will need a lot of courage to drive them in public (^_^)
