No need to say, chopsticks are traditional eating utensils in Japan as well as other East Asian countries.

Japanese people usually have their own chopsticks.

Variety of designs, colors, shapes are available at stores.

Some people order a set of customized chopsticks that perfectly fit in their hands.

Elaborately decorated ones are pricy and often given as a gift.

There are some manners when you use chopsticks.

If you go to a fancy Japanese restaurant, keep these rules in mind.

[Etiquette]
–    Do not spear piece of food with chopsticks.
–    Do not use chopsticks to shift dishes around.
–    Do not wave chopsticks in the air while trying to decide what eat.
–    Do not rummage food to find a piece you want to eat.

These are only basics but don’t worry so much about them at a casual table, just enjoy your Japanese food!!
