In autumn, cosmoses bloom all over in Japan, and cosmos festivals are held in different parts of the country.

Cosmos is called “aki-zakura” meaning “autumn cherry blossom”, and there are pink, white, red, yellow, and orange colored cosmoses.

One of the most famous cosmos fields is in Showa Memorial Park (also known as Showa Commemorative National Government Park), which is in Akishima and Tachikawa, Tokyo.

There are 8 kinds of 5500,000 cosmoses in the vast cosmos field.

The vivid colored cosmoses are so beautiful against the clear blue autumn sky.

Their cosmos festival 2009 started on September 19th and it ends today.
