It is a ranking of “the traditional ceramic towns where fun to walk around”.

 

There are 3 blocks; South Area, Middle Area, North Area.

[South Area (Kyushu, Chugoku, Shikoku)]
#1 Arita ware (Arita, Saga Prefecture)
#2 Onnta ware (Hida, Oita Prefecture)
#3 Yomitann ware (Yomitann, Okinawa Prefecture)
#4 Imari ware (Imari, Saga Prefecture)
#5 Karatsu ware (Karatsu, Saga Prefecture)

[Middle Area (Kinki, Chubu)]
#1 Tanba ware (Shinoyama, Hyogo Prefecture)
#2 Seto ware (Seto, Aichi Prefecture)
#3 Shigaraki ware (Kouka, Shiga Prefecture)
#4 Mino ware (Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture)
#5 Tokoname (Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture)

[North Area (Kanto, Tohoku, Hokkaido)]
#1 Mashiko ware (Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture)
#2 Kasama ware (Kasama, Ibaraki Prefecture)
#3 Aizuhongou ware (Aizumisato, Fukushima Prefecture)

These ceramic towns have Japanese old structures and the sceneries are beautiful.

The number 1 from the South Area, Arita ware town is a perfect for shopping, sightseeing, and to experience ceramic.

The second ranked Seto from Middle area produces pottery and porcelain both.

There are dozens of ceramic stores along with a river. It’s also a good gourmet town.

The number 1 in the North Area, Mashiko has many younger ceramicists.

There are chic designed ceramics increasing in this town.
